Painting Municipal Flower Pots! June-July 2015
Hélène Chayer, Raymonde Gaudette and Paulyne Charron literally hit the streets to add their artistic expression to some of the flower pots that bring charm to the streets of Sturgeon Falls. Initially, a base-coat was applied to the surface of the pots upon which the town's maxim was added: Joie de vivre. The artists then painted subjects they felt would speak of the community and perhaps bring a smile. The idea was initiated by Paulyne Charron who felt this project was a way to show the Gallery's community spirit and appreciation. Be sure to take a moment to notice the results of their labours. The artists found themselves contorted into unnatural positions in order to be able to add their touch...these artists really did 'suffer for their art'!
